Wesley Linen Service
Wesley Linen Services has just commissioned a new half-a-million dollar water recycling plant which is expected to cut its consumption by 60 percent.
Water management is their highest priority and they have already switched to new processing equipment to improve water efficiency – including boilers, continuous batch washing systems, washers and extractors.
Their new water recycling plant will capture and re-use approximately 60 percent of incoming water and outflows. The only water lost is through natural evaporation through dryers and ironers, plus an additional 5 to 10% for backwashing of filters.
The total investment in the water recycling system was in excess of $500,000 of which WLS acknowledges the contribution of the Queensland Government through the Sustainable Industries Division of the EPA which has enabled the project to proceed.
The systems recycles the water and returns it into the washers at 45 degrees Celsius, thus reducing greenhouse emissions of approximately 680,000 kgs per annum.
