Restrictions

We’re making sure saving water is everyone’s business. Strict measures are in place for big business and government agencies. By law workplaces must achieve permanent savings.

  • Large volume users (using more than 10ML a year) must audit their workplace and make permanent savings. Fines of up to $125 000 apply for non-compliance. Read more
  • Commercial properties (using more than 1ML a year) must have efficient appliances, like cooling towers, urinals, and low flow showers and taps. On the spot fines apply for non-compliance. Read more
  • Fixed and mobile commercial washers (for vehicles, buildings and dogs) must only use water in accordance with guidelines and only following registration and training. Read more
  • Active playing surface operators must only use water in accordance with guidelines. They also need to register, keep a record of water use, use less than their allocation and only water at specified times. Read more
