Assistance is available to help businesses achieve water savings.

The Queensland Government has allocated $40 million to assist business implement water saving measures through the Business Water Efficiency Program (BWEP). The program will help South East Queensland businesses save water by adopting sustainable water use practices.

As a part of the program, businesses can receive:

  • Subsidies towards the implementation of water efficiency projects, including a contribution to the cost of undertaking an audit and developing a WEMP
  • A rebate towards the cost of retrofitting water efficient toilets, taps and showers
  • A combination of rebate and subsidy

The Environmental Protection Agencies' ecoBiz program can also assist businesses achieve increased profitability and sustainability. It uses a process of identifying and measuring water, energy and material resource saving opportunities.
