Target 140
Water restrictions apply and it's up to all of us to cut our water use to 140 litres - join the Target 140, campaign and reduce our region’s daily average water consumption to 140 litres per person.
Residential consumption
Residential daily consumption figures are calculated on a weekly basis using local council water usage data:
- each SEQ council provides bulk water supply data to the Commission
- data is collated to derive an average daily regional figure (including residential and non-residential use)
- the non-residential sector's consumption is then deducted
- an average daily per person water consumption is then derived using population figures
